First, let's discuss how dogs learn through associations. This is key for when our dogs are "upset" or feeling emotional. Sounds familiar? This type of learning has nothing to do with Positive Reinforcement. You'll see why after the second video. 😉
Next, we'll talk about how dogs learn through cause and effect. This is where the term "positive reinforcement" comes into play. This is key for when we are training our dogs to respond to a cue by performing a behaviour. This is not as helpful when our dog is "upset", but comes into play later on.
