Learning Objectives

WE DID IT!!!! WE MADE IT TO THE SIXTH WEEK!!

You have really worked your butt off and have tackled one of the most complex challenges in the dog training and behaviour world. This is one of the most difficult issues that dog-guardians AND Professional Trainers face. In fact, most Dog Trainers won’t take on Separation Anxiety cases because of the level of difficulty and the previously low success rate!

You’re lucky to be working on this in a time when the success rate has increased from 12% of cases (and only with medication) to closer to 80% of cases are resolvable. That is a HUGE jump.

Yes, it takes time and a lot of management and creativity, but you can do this.

This week’s menu:

Theory

  • Setbacks, regressions, and plateaus…oh my!
  • Typical intervals for training
  • Taking a break in the protocol for vacation or important matters
  • Working with pet sitters and management

Exercises

  • Keep building those Missions!

Troubleshooting

  • Are we STILL not using food toys? Seriously?
  • When do we get rid of warm-up steps?
  • How to handle moving house with a SepAnx dog?

Learning Objectives

By the end of this module you will have:

  • learned how to handle setbacks, regressions, and plateaus
  • an idea of what intervals we’re looking at down the road
  • some ideas for managing breaks in the protocol and working with pet sitters

You’re all set! Get in there and get started.
