Visitors to the Home

50%

Course Overview:

When we have a human-reactive dog, we have an added liability in our home. It’s always best to prepare in advance and put fail-safe protocols in place. No one wants a bite to occur, and so let’s be proactive!

There are a few categories of visitors when it comes to reactive dogs:

  1. People around whom your dog is comfortable and reliable.
  2. Compliant people with whom your dog displays reactive/aggressive behaviour and are an important part of your life (friends, family, partner).
  3. Non-compliant people with whom your dog displays reactive/aggressive behaviour and are an important part of your life (friends, family, partner).
  4. People with whom your dog displays reactive/aggressive behaviour and are not an important part of your life (plumber, cable technician, etc).
  5. Children.

Numbers 1 and 2 are the categories you will be training for, using this exercise. Numbers 3, 4, and 5 are the categories you will not be training for, but instead you will be utilising management and simply ensuring the safety of all parties by keeping your dog separated.
