Teaching a dog to stand is extraordinarily helpful when we need to clean paws, clip nails, check bellies, clean bums, you name it.

Ideas for verbal cues: “stand”, “leviosa”, “stack”,

  • Only say the cue or offer then hand signal once. Wait patiently for up to 45 seconds. Let your dog think and problem-solve!
  • Follow the push-drop-stick rules
  • Consider the level of distraction and set your dog up for success
  • Click the checkmark on the left to move onto the next step when you’ve been successful
