Watch Out

“Watch out” is a cue that asks your dog to move out of the way swiftly but without fear. Parents-to-be are top fans of this behaviour because when you are carrying a baby, you cannot risk being tripped up by a dog lying across the kitchen threshold. Even if you aren’t expecting a baby, this behaviour is key for those who drink hot tea or hate to mix red wine with white carpets.

Ideas for cues: “watch out”, “outta the way”, “move”

Caution: Do not practice this if you have more than one dog in the home or if your child is near the dog on the floor.
